Who am I?

I’m 21 years old and I was born on the 16th March 1992.

I caught the adventure bug when I was little and I started having adventures with my parents exploring the Peak District and the Brecon Beacons. I got my first pair of ski’s when I was 5 and I put them on and whizzed off down the slopes without any guidance of how to steer! I started sailing at the age of 7 and I have never looked back.

In 2007 on the 3rd January, at the age of fourteen I became the youngest person to ever sail across the Atlantic single-handed. In 2009 on the 27th August, at the age of 17 I became the youngest person to sail single-handed around the world. In 2012 on the 3rd December, at the age of 20 I became both the youngest person to drive around the world and the first person in history to have solo circumnavigated by land and sea.

Some of my highlights

My highest accomplishment
When I crossed the finish line of my around the world sail in 2009 I had this overwhelming sense of relief. Not just for me, but for the huge efforts of the team that supported me in my endeavour. This incredible teamwork led to the success of the project.
Favourite Locations
Having been lucky enough to have toured the world, I have seen some pretty special places already. Top of the list currently stands the middle of the Mongolian dessert. When I was driving across the dessert back in 2012, my car continually got majorly bogged down in the sand. Even in the middle of the dessert, I was still able to find a local to help me tow the old girl out.
Off Topic Favourite Things To Do
When I am not off on one of my adventures, I like to spend my time with family and friends. I also volunteer a lot for the Tall Ships Youth Trust. This involves taking groups of young people who are often disadvantaged out on the water and developing their teamwork as well teaching them how to sail. I find this volunteering very rewarding and I usually try and spend a month on the boats each year.
